Product Info

This antique French stick pin is a tiny marvel of fine details. The face, or mask, probably represents an ancient mythological character and is crafted in 18 karat gold and enamel. Most of the face is covered in pale green enamel the color of patinated bronze, with the hair in black enamel and the inside of the mouth in blue enamel.

  • Marks:

    The French eagle's head hallmark signifying 18 karat gold, with the bigorne countermark. There are also barely-legible numbers on the back side of the face, probably the maker's serial number or model number

  • Age:

    Late 19th century

  • Condition:

    Very good antique condition. There is a small break in the gold on the back edge of the face at the point where the flat back of the face was soldered to the modeled portion on the front.
