Bernard Dawahoya (1935-2010) was an award-winning Hopi artist whose work was exhibited at the Santa Fe Indian Market for decades and in shows at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Sante Fe, and the Museum of Northern Arizon in Flagstaff. His work is in the collection of the Peabody Museum at Harvard University and in many private collections.
He learned jewelry making as a teenager from his uncles and at the Hopi Silvercraft Cooperative Guild.
He is known for his exceptional silver overlay work which can be seen in these long, elegant, earrings.
