Here's a tiara fit for a mermaid, or a bride of course.

Antique coral tiaras are quite rare. There is a marvelous example in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum by Phillips Brothers, and this one is a little less elaborate, but no less beautiful. I've included a picture of the example in the V & A.

This one has similar construction to the one in the V & A, with a gilt metal frame and the coral attached to the ends of wires. The frame is springy, allowing it to be worn lower on the forehead or higher on the head, and has loops at each end for attaching it with hairpins or a piece of elastic under the hair.

Because of international laws regarding coral this cannot be shipped outside of the United States.

  • Condition:

    Very good antique condition. When looked at under magnification, there are a couple of places where it appears that wires holding branches of coral have broken off, but this is not noticeable when worn.
