A porcelain bowl centered with a silver orb is perched on a small stem in this showstopping ring by Anton Michelsen. 

Anton Michelsen was one of the most important and venerable Danish silver firms, having begun in the mid-19th century receiving commissions from the Royal family. In addition to Mr. Michelsen one of the Danish designers who worked for the company was Georg Jensen, who apprenticed with Michelsen prior to opening his own firm. In 1968 Royal Copenhagen bought the Michelsen company and this ring is a result of the merger of two great Danish companies. (In 1972 Michelsen merged with Georg Jensen and some well-known Michelsen designs such as the enameled Marguerite daisy are now produced under the Jensen name).
