Product Info
Archimede Seguso (1909-1999) was a master of 20th century glassmaking. Born in Murano, he began his career at age 11 (sic) working in the furnace. He is known for reviving ancient Venetian techniques and for collaborating with well-known brands such as Chanel and Tiffany. In the world of jewelry he is known for the glass chain link necklaces that he made, sometimes under his own label and sometimes for Chanel.
This 48" long necklace was produced under his own label, with "AS" initials on the clasp. It has a dramatic color palette of black and red with gold plated end caps and scattered rhinestone rondelles. The matching earrings have posts soft soldered on, probably converted from clip backs.
