Jean Vendome (1930-2017) is one of the most important Artist Jewelers of the second half of the 20th century. His work was sculptural and sometimes Surrealist, incorporating both diamonds and geodes, high karat gold and crab claws into creations that were wildly varied, yet always recognizable as his.

This "Tour" ring features three cylinders of amethyst rising like a citiscape of towers (hence the name) from gold foundations. It is edgy and sculptural, yet extremely wearable.

A similar "Tour" ring with citrine is shown on page 6 of Jean Vendome Artiste Joaillier and dated 1956.

    ring size 5. Because of the opening at the top, it can accommodate a finger slightly larger than a size 5.

    "Jean Vendome"; "Paris"; and the French Mercury head hallmark indicating 18 karat gold

    circa 1950's or 60's. A similar "Tour" ring with citrine is shown on page 6 of "Jean Vendome Artiste Joaillier" and dated 1956.

  • Condition:

    Very good vintage condition with some minor scuffing visible under magnification, indicative of age and use
