Textured, cut, and folded silver pieces are combined to form this striking brooch/pendant by Rey Urban. The piece has its original pin back and original wire hook bale which allows it to both slide or be hooked onto a chain.

Rey Urban (1929-2015) was a Swedish designer based in Stockholm who began working in 1951. Urban trained under Swedish designer Erik Fleming. Much of his work was produced in Denmark by Age Fausing, as is the case with this brooch. In 1966 he was a founder, along with Claes Giertta and Lars Fleming, of the group "Three Smiths" (Tre Smeader) who jointly exhibited together.
