Product Info
Anne Dick (1927-2017) was an American jewelry designer who worked in a brutalist style. Although her jewelry is wonderful, she is actually best-known as the muse of her husband, the author Phillip K Dick, for whom she was wife number three of five. According to her New York Times obituary, she was the inspiration for characters in some of his best-known novels including The Man in the High Castle (in which a jewelry-maker is a major character) and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the basis for the film Blade Runner. Dick made jewelry from the early 1960’s to 2008.
This necklace is a marvelous example of her work, with her characteristic hammered and textured links joined by wire links with rounded ends, and highlighted by a central plaque with a beautiful verdigris patina.
