Henning Koppel (1918-1981) began working for the Georg Jensen silversmithy in 1945 and "his designs were responsible for propelling Jensen silver to the forefront of Modern design after World War II" according to Georg Jensen Jewelry published by the Bard Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts.

What we now think of as "Danish Modern" design in the realms of jewelry and silver is due in large part to Koppel. Koppel was the recipient of numerous awards including the Lunning prize, gold medals from the Milan Triennale, and the International Design Award of the American Society of Interior Designers.

This elegant brooch, design number 327, is a classic design of Koppel's for Georg Jensen.
