  • Materials:

    Sterling silver and azurmalachite

  • Size:

The hands are 5" across x 2-3/4" high. The chain is 16" long.

  • Marks:

The Spratling maker's mark which consists of a stylized script "WS" with "925 above it and surrounded by "William Spratling Taxco Mexico" in a squarish formation. There is also the Mexican eagle assay mark with an illegible number inside.

  • Age:

Mid-20th Century. There is conflicting information in my various reference books as to the exact time frame in which this particular Spratling maker's mark was in use, so I'm unable to narrow it down more precisely.

  • Condition:

There is some damage to this piece, reflected in the price. The "ring finger" that is inlaid is slightly bent, raising it about 1/4" above the other fingers. This has resulted in some cracking at the base of the finger and a small chip. In addition, when this occurred, the middle finger next to it was impacted and has a shallow chip about 1/8" in daimeter, a deeper chip next to it and a couple of radiating cracks. Photos show this damage.
