Product Info
This spectacular necklace by Antonio Pineda features crossed arcs with obsidian drops suspended from the intersections. The obsidian (volcanic glass) is unbacked and has a subtle golden glow. Both the arched segments and the obsidian drops are hinged, allowing the necklace to conform to your neck.
Antonio Pineda (1919-2009) was one of the modernist masters of Mexican jewelry. Pineda began his career working for William Spratling and opened his own taller (studio) in 1939. A comprehensive exhibit of his work was shown at the Fowler Museum in Los Angeles and a monograph “Silver Seduction, The Art of Mexican Modernist Antonio Pineda” was produced in conjunction with the exhibit.
