"Jewelry is the herald of joy".

So said Bent Gabrielsen Pedersen (1928-2014), who began his career with the Hans Hansen Silversmithy in 1953, working his way up to become the firm's artistic director; during this time he also produced iconic modernist designs for the Georg Jensen Silversmithy. In 1969 had opened his own workshop. He described jewelry as "a little work of art which brings joy to the one wears it. It brings joy to the one who presents it, just as it gives me joy to create it. Jewelry is the herald of joy."

These elegant earrings were designed by Bent Gabrielsen Pedersen for Hans Hansen are known at the "Lilypad" design.  They have their original screwback fittings.
