A row of hearts encircles the wrist in this delightful bracelet by designed by Karl Gustav Hansen for Hans Hansen. The jewelry of this style and period is sometimes referred to as "Functionalist" and is characterized by clean lines, stripped-down forms, and simplified decoration. According to “The Jewellery Box: Danish Jewellery Art of the 20th Century” by Jens Ingvordsen, this bracelet was designed between 1940 and 1946.

Hans Hansen was a Danish workshop founded by Hans Hansen is 1906 and carried on by his son Karl Gustav Hansen (1914-2002) in 1940.  In 1992 the firm merged with the Georg Jensen silversmithy.
