Known as the "Nut" bangle, for its resemblance to a hex nut (although in this case there are seven sides, not six), this hand-forged bangle was designed by Ragnar Hansen for the Norway Plus workshop. 

Norway Plus Designs began as an applied arts center in 1958, with Erling Christoffersen in charge of the silver workshop.  He and his wife Anna Greta Eker were the chief designers and were joined by Tone Vigland.  The silver workshop was closed in the 1970’s.

    Sterling silver

  • Size:

    2-3/4" inside diameter making it slightly larger than a typical bangle

  • Marks:

    A chunky "N" and plus sign, the marks for the Norway Plus workshop; an "H" for Ragnar Hansen stamped over a conjoined "TV" for Tone Vigeland (I have yet to learn why this occured, but it appears on other examples of this bracelet); "sterling"; "925S"; "Norway"

  • Age:

    1960's or '70's

    Excellent vintage condition with very minor scuffing
