This sublime Morganite ring by Atelier Munsteiner is huge in scale with a large fantasy-cut pale pink Morganite which has faceting on the underside of the stone and a gently curved top surface. It is set in a sculptural 18 karat gold setting with the gorgeous satin finish for which Atelier Munsteiner is known.

Atelier Munsteiner is a German jewelry house famed for its innovative gemstone cutting techniques. Bernd Munsteiner (1943-2024) was a revolutionary in the world of gem cutting and invented what is known as the “fantasy cut”, non-traditional cuts made on the back side of gemstones to create spectacular effects. Having grown up near Idar-Oberstein, the gem cutting center of Germany, Bernd started working in his father’s lapidary.  Atelier Munsteiner was begun in 1973 by Bernd, who was later joined by his son Tom (1969-2023) and Tom’s wife Jutta. With the recent deaths of Bernd and Tom the atelier is being continued by Jutta, along with Tom and Jutta’s son Phillipp. They create masterful pieces of jewelry in which sculptural settings are used to highlight innovatively-cut stones.
