Falk Burger is a master goldsmith who is particularly renowned for finding and cutting unusual specimen gemstones which can be seen in this spectacular one-of-a-kind ring. The ring is set with an unusual rutilated quartz cabochon with almost all of the rutilation on the bottom surface of the cabochon so, when looked at sideways, the stone appears to be clear rock crystal while, when looked at from above, the heavy rutilation gives it a golden glow.

The stone is set in two colors of 22 karat gold: the shank and beaded decoration are in yellow gold while the bezel is in a slightly rosier shade of gold. The beads that decorate the bezel and doubled shank are set in blackened metal; this is probably blackened silver but because it couldn't be tested without risking damage I can't say with certainty.
