This exquisite evening bag is French, although the stylized flowers are reminiscent of the roses designed by the great Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, often referred to as "Mackintosh roses". 

Both sides of the purse are embroidered with colored metallic thread that have a beautiful patina, but retain some of their original colors of red, pink, orange, and blue along with silver and gold. In person, the colors are less bright than they appear in the photos (at least on my computer screen).
